Joe Steward was given the great honour of representing Great Briatain & NI in the World Cross Country Championships today in China. Joe gained selection from showing great form throughout the season with him coming 3rd in the English Nationals and winning the Inter Counties race making him the British Champion.
The race took place in Guiyang with the course consisting of 4 laps of 1980m (around 8km). The twists and undulations made it difficult to maintain a consistent pace and one muddy corner in particular caused runners to slip and lose their footing.
Joe had another strong run holding his own in the middle of the field coming home in a brilliant 53rd position. Joe was 2nd back from GB & NI in a time of 26.21. The GB & NI team finished 13th overall.
