On Wednesday 27th May it was the Dovestone Diamond 10K which has become a popular annual event especially for ECH athletes. The tough undulating 10K sold out weeks before and there were many ECH representatives as usual.
East Cheshire’s men picked up the team prize with Joe Steward finishing a brilliant 2nd (behind ex East Cheshire athlete Gareth Raven), Scott Matthews coming 5th and Barry Hirst 8th (1st Vet 50). Another mention goes to Tony Hillier 1st Vet 65
First ECH lady back was Janet Grint in 62nd (3rd Vet 35), closely followed by Janine Ridgard in 65th place overall but 1st in her Vet 50 category. Angela Oldham also had a good run in 81st overall and 1st in the Vet 55 category.
