This seasons South East Lancs cross country League fixtures are as follows:

Megan Lewis finished a superb 1st place in the under 13 girls race wining by 18 seconds. Abby O’Neil came 3rd in the under 15 girls event closely followed by Molly Healey in 4th place. The under 17 men’s team finished a brilliant 1st with great runs from George Lewis 2nd, Nathan Barlow 4th, Paolo Guarnieri 6th and Callum Rhodes 7th. Alannah Newell had a good solid run fishing 2nd in the under 17 women’s race.
In the senior women’s race first home for ECH was Beth Hirst in a brilliant 3rd place finish closely followed by Hayley Simpson in a fantastic 5th and Michelle Vaughan 11th taking 1st place in the team event. The under 20’s women’s team came 1st place and got 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th from Hayley Simpson, Courtney Donald, Niamh Hartshorne and Emma Dixon respectively. The East Cheshire Vet teams finished 2nd in all cateogries (vet 35, vet 40, vet 45 and vet 50).
Tom McGuinness showing what a great season he is having won the senior men’s race, with Luke Piper 3rd, Joe Hudak 5th, Kevin Jowett 6th, Tim Greenald 8th and Chris Swire 14th taking the team event. East Cheshire won the team prize in both the Vet 40 and Vet 50 categories also!

Match 2 – 12/12/2016 – Heaton Park, Manchester
The under 11 boys team finished a brilliant 2nd with good runs from Harrison Pepper 9th, Zak Conboy 10th, Sammy Vink 12th and Lewis Kirk 13th. The under 11 girls team came 3rd with good performances from Libby Kilbourne 10th, Matilda Byrnes 13th and Madeline Stout 15th making up the team. Megan Lewis won the under 13 girls race with a fantastic run winning by nearly 30 seconds. Freya Handley came a solid 4th with Katherine Waters 19th gaining the under 13 girls 3rd place in the team event. Keenan Owen again impressed with a win in the under 15 boys race with good backup from Jake Smith in 8th. Abby O’Neil ran well to finish 3rd in the under 15 girls event with good backup from Molly Healey in 8th place. George Lewis ran well finishing a solid 2nd in the under 17 men’s race with Paolo Guarnieri finishing a respectable 5th. Alannah Newell also finished 2nd in the under 17 women’s event.
Hayley Simpson was first back in the senior women’s race finishing a brilliant 5th (2nd under 20), with Bethany Hirst just behind in a solid 6th place. Janet Grint was the next counter in 16th (3rd vet 40), which was enough to take 1st place in the team event for the ladies. Other good performances from  Pam Read 23rd (3rd vet 35), Catherine Daley 25th, Niamh Hartshorne 33rd and Gill Wolstenholme 52nd.
First home in the senior men’s event was Kevin Jowett in a superb 6th overall and 1st Vet 40. Tim Greenald was next in 11th (2nd vet 40) followed by ever present Gary Matthews in 27th place overall taking 1st in the vet 55 category. Ian Fraser also had a good run in 36th position, which was 3rd in his vet 50 category. Derek Hughes 51st and Neil Woods 76th made up the team which finished in 3rd place
Well done to all who took part on the day in tough muddy conditions.

An excellent effort from the under 11 boys and girls team finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. L Storey-Grimshaw 10th, McKenzie Lee 12th and Zak Conboy 13th made up the boys team and Madeline Stout 19th, Matilda Byrnes 20th and Imogen Gush 22nd made up the girl’s team. Greg Dari has a brilliant run in the under 13 boys race finishing a fantastic 2nd place and so did Megan Lewis in the under 13 girls race also finishing 2nd.
Another win for Keenan Owen in the under 15 boys event wining by over 20 seconds. Abby O’Neil was first back for ECH in the under 15 girls event with a solid 4th closely followed by Molly Healey in 8th.The under 17 men impressed with a team win with good runs from George Lewis 2nd, Callum Rhodes 3rd and Paolo Guarnieri 5th.
Hayley Simpson again impressed in the senior ladies race finishing 3rd overall and 1st under 20. Bethany Hirst 6th and Janine Ridgard 9th (1st Vet 50) made up the team giving them 1st in the team event.  Janet Grint had a good run in 10th place (2nd  Vet 40) and so did Angela Oldham 13th (1st Vet 60) and Gill Wolstenholme 42nd (3rd Vet 60).
Tom McGuinness had another solid run in 2nd place and 1st under 20, closely followed by Kevin Jowett in 3rd place who had a great run to win the Vet 40 category. Ian Fraser 14th (1st Vet 50), Gary Matthews 17th (1st Vet 55), Chris Swire 23rd and Derek Hughes 33rd made up the team with an impressive 1st place.
Only one race last in the series with plenty of medals up for grabs. Keep up the hard work.

Match 4 – 20/02/2016 – Boggart Hole Clough, Manchester
East Cheshire hosted the last race of the series and we ran a fantastic event in difficult conditions. A very big thank you and mention to all the marshalls and volunteers who helped organise the event and thanks to all the supporters out on the course.
A cracking turn-out from East Cheshire runners from under 11 all the way to the seniors. Special mentions to Megan Lewis who finished 2nd in the under 13 girls race, Keenan Owen 1st in the under 15 boys race and Abby O’Neil 2nd in the under 15 girls event,. The under 17 men’s team managed a 1, 2, 3, 4 with good runs from George Lewis, Nathan Barlow, Callum Rhodes and Paolo Gaurnieri respectively. Allanah Newell had a good run to win the under 17 girls race as did Niamh Hartshorne finishing 2nd in the under 20 women’s category.
Bethany Hirst first back in the senior women’s race finishing a solid 5th place. Good runs from Janet Grint 10th (3rd v40), Janine Ridgard 11th (1st v50), Melanie Kay 15th, Angela Oldham 19th (1st v60), Pam Read 21st (3rd v35), Andrea Edwards 30th (3rd v45) and Gill Wolstenholme 42nd (2nd v60).
Tom McGuinness had a great run to win the senior men’s race and 1st under 20 as did Kevin Jowett in 3rd place and 1st vet 40. Other good performances from Ian Fraser 15th (2nd v50), Chris Swire 26th (3rd v45) and Kieth Owens 3rd vet 65.
