A fantastic evening of racing at our annual Black Knight Charge event on Wednesday 17th July. There were 177 finishers in the senior 6 mile race with East Cheshire’s own Joe Steward taking the win in 35.41 winning by 4 seconds to Altrincham’s Andy Norman. 3rd place went to Tom Mitchell (unattached) in a time of 36.28. In the women’s race the winner was Amy Shadbolt from Mossley Running Club in a time of 45.16. Jude Wall from Manchester Tri Club was 2nd in 46.22 closely followed by Emma Ball from Middleton Harriers in 3rd place with 46.27.
In the junior race Finley Mayoh from Stockport Harriers had a fantastic run to win in a time of 10.58. East Cheshire athletes James McGraw and James Harney finished 2nd and 3rd respectively with times of 11.43 and 11.56. In the girls race the win went to Caitlin Doohan from Trafford AC with a time of 12.17 just beating East Cheshire Matilda Byrnes by 3 seconds in a very close race. East Cheshire’s May Mannion finished 3rd place with 12.23.
A massive thank you to all the amazing helpers and marshal’s on the night, without you all this event wouldn’t go ahead!
