The Tour of Tameside took place at the weekend with some great performances all round from ECH. There was one race added to last year so the tour consisted of 4 races in 4 days including a 10k trail race, 6 mile fell race, half marathon and finishing with 7 miles in Hyde.
Derek Hughes had a fantastic tour winning his age category Male 55 by over 2 minutes with a overall time of 3.59.49. Tony Hillier was also in the medals finishing 2nd place in the Male 65 category with a overall time of 4.19.35.
Joe Hudak was first ECH runner to complete the tour who ran brilliantly throughout finishing 6th overall but 4th in his age category with a overall time of 3.24.18. Stephen Ellison was next home in 3.44.45 finishing 5th in his Male 40 category and 20th overall and Dennis Thomas was 7th in the same category and 27th overall with a time of 3.51.19. Thomas Hubbard and Stephen Hubbard also shown great efforts by completing the tour with times of 4.09.12 and 4.40.46 respectively.
On the women’s side ECH had good performances from sisters Pamela Read and Jennifer Read who finished 5th and 6th in the Female 35 age category with times of 4.20.15 and 4.35.06 respectively. Andrea Edwards had a fantastic tour finishing 2nd overall in the Female 45 category with a time of 4.48.28.
Well done to all – a fantastic acheivement.
