ECH athlete Mike Coogan competed for Great Britain in the World Masters Indoor Athletics Championships in Daegu/Korea over the weekend.
Mike ran in the 400m vet 40 category taking part in the preliminaries and semi-final on Friday 24th March. Mike won both the preliminary and semi final heats in 54.91 and 53.44 respectively to make the final on Saturday 25th March. Mike had a great run and ran a seasons best of 51.07 in the final to take the Silver medal behind Antwon Dussett of the USA.
It didn’t finish there for Mike, he took part in the 4 X 200m relay final later on in the day on 25th March along with team mates TJ Ossai, Ciaran Harvey and Mensah Elliot. Mike ran on the final leg and took Gold for Team GB!
A magnificent achievement Mike, well done on a fantastic weekends racing!
