The Pride of Tameside Sport & Physical Activity Awards 2019 took place at Dukinfield Town Hall on Friday 27th September recognising the hard work, effort & commitment to sport from the people of Tameside.

East Cheshire Harriers were nominated for the ‘Club of the Year’ and other nominations from club members were John Murphy (Unsung Hero), Gary Matthews (Unsung Hero), Megan Lewis (Volunteer of the Year), Katherine Waters (Volunteer of the Year), Rose Barlow (Volunteer of the Year), Freya Handley (Volunteer of the Year), Lucy Thompson (Volunteer of the Year) and Abby O’Neill (Volunteer of the Year).

Honorary Secretary John Murphy (pictured middle) won a well deserved 3rd place award in the Unsung Hero category for his hard work & commitment to not only East Cheshire Harriers but to 3 other sports over the last 40 years. Well done John!
