On Wednesday 23rd July it was our annual Black Knight Charge 6 mile multi-terrain race in and around Daisy Nook Country Park. There were 170 finishers on the night in hot conditions with ex ECH athlete Andi Jones winning the race in a record time of 32.26. Not far behind was another ex ECH runner in Gareth Raven with 32.41 and Dave Norman from Altrincham was 3rd with 34.17. In the Women’s race Sarah Tunstall from Kendal AC was first lady in 10th overall with 37.27, with ECH’S Holly Teague 2nd lady and Kirsty White from Royton Road Runners in 3rd place.
East Cheshire won both men’s and women’s team prizes. Joe Steward 5th, Howard Oldham 6th, Joe Hudak 7th and Kevin Jowett 8th made up the winning team. For the women, great runs from Holly Teague 2nd lady, Janine Ridgard 4th lady, Janet Grint 5th lady and Michelle Vaughan 7th lady to take the team prize.
A special mention goes to all the helpers and marshals on the night for running a fantastic event, without you it wouldn’t take place, well done!
