British Masters Cross Country Relays 2014

The BMAF Cross Country Relay Championships were held on Saturday 25^th October in Derby and we were proudly represented by two women’s teams in the W35 and W45 categories. East Cheshire Ladies were represented for the first time at this event with two teams managed by Coach Shirley Aldridge competing.

It was an early start for everyone on what was a damp morning this side of the pennines, however it wasn’t long before the sun was shining on arrival at Moorways Stadium in readiness for our teams to run each of their legs.

The W35 team achieved an excellent 11^th place in their age category with fantastic times from – Michelle Vaughan: 14:12, Andrea Edwards: 17:05 and Melanie Kay: 15:01. The W45 team came in an outstanding 7^th place in their category, again with some brilliant times from – Janine Ridgard: 13:37, Angela Oldham: 14:46 and Emma MacQueen: 14:35.

A great day out which received some very welcome and enthusiastic encouragement from the side lines, with Shirley Aldridge and Gill Lambert as the team cheerleaders extraordinaire !!
