The Greater Manchester Marathon took place today (Sunday 7th April) with four ECH athletes taking to the challenge of 26.2 miles in rather good running conditions.
David Robinson was first home in a magnificent time of 2.54.29 to finish in 495th place out of over 13,200 runners! Tracey Gibson was next in a creditable time of 4.06.21 in 6236th place, with Sharon Daw 4.26.14 and Rachel Young 4.39.17 finishing 7793rd and 9981st respectively both performing well.
A mention must go to ex-East Cheshire athlete Gareth Raven finishing a brilliant 2nd place overall with 2.26.07, not bad for a vet 40!
Well done to all taking part (and the months of hard training), and thanks to those ECH volunteers who helped marshal out on the course. Photo inset – ECH athlete Dennis Thomas & ECH coach Shirley Aldridge cheering the runners on!
