This season’s Manchester League XC fixtures are as follows:
Match 1- 10/10/2015 – Woodbank Park, Stockport
Match 2 – 07/11/2015 – Sherdley Park, St Helens
Match 3 – 05/12/2015 – Boggart Hole Clough, Manchester
Match 4 – 16/01/2016 – Heaton Park, Manchester
Match 5 – 13/02/2016 – Wythenshawe Park. Manchester

In the Under 13 girls race East Cheshire claimed 3rd place in the team event with good runs from Megan Lewis 4th, Ty Brockley-Langford 11th and Christie Allen 18th making up the team. A fantastic run from Keenan Owen in the under 15 boys event coming home in 1st place winning by 14 seconds. Under 17 men claimed 3rd team with solid runs from George Lewis 5th, Nathan Barlow 8th and Callum Rhodes 20th making up the team.
First back for ECH in the Senior Women’s race was Beth Hirst in 21st closely followed by Hayley Simpson in 23rd. Janine Ridgard finished 2nd Vet 50 and Angela Oldham also finished 2nd in her Vet 60 category. First home in the Senior Men’s event was in form Tom McGuinness in 19th position overall but 2nd in the under 20’s category. Another good run from Barry Hirst finishing 3rd in the Vet 50 category. Ever consistent Gary Matthews having a good run placing 1st in his category Vet 55. Finally, Tony Hillier again running well in his category coming 2nd Vet 65. ECH claimed 3rd place in the vets team event (Kevin Jowett, Barry Hirst, Tim Greenald and Gary Matthews).

Keenan Owen impressed again finished 2nd overall in the under 15 boys race, a great start to the cross country season for him.
In the senior women’s race Beth Hirst was first back finishing 28th overall. Janine Ridgard and Angela Oldham again both finished 2nd in their categories of Vet 50 and Vet 60 respectively.
Tom McGuinness again running well in the senior men’s race coming home first for ECH in 30th overall (4th under 20). Barry Hirst 2nd Vet 50 and Gary  Matthews 1st Vet 55 having good solid runs as usual.

Match 3 – 05/12/2015 – Boggart Hole Clough, Manchester
Megan Lewis had a strong run in the under 13 girls race finishing 4th and Keenan Owen again ran superbly to win the under 15 race by 25 seconds. The under 15 girls team came 3rd overall with good performances from Abby O’Neill 8th, Holly Jackson 11th and Alyssia Davey 13th with good support from Molly Healey in 23rd. The under 17 men also took bronze in the team with solid runs from Geore Lewis 3rd, Nathan Barlow 14th, Paolo Guarnieri 19th and again good support from Callum Rhodes in 20th.
Some great performances from the senior women’s race including Hayley Simpson first back in 7th (3rd Under 20), Gillian Wolstenholme 16th (1st Vet 60) and Janine Ridgard 35th (2nd Vet 50).
Again some brilliant runs in the senior men’s event with Tom McGuinness 11th overall (1st Under 20), Luke Piper 13th (2nd under 20), Joe Hudak 23rd and Gary Matthews 84th (1st Vet 55). Good effort from all well done.

 Match 4 – 16/01/2016 – Heaton Park, Manchester
Keenan Owen who has been in fantastic form this season again impressed with a win in the under 15 boys event winning by over 40 seconds. The under 17 men got 2nd in the team event with good runs from George Lewis 4th, Nathan Barlow 6th and Paolo Guarnieri 11th.
Hayley Simpson who is having a great cross country season finished a brilliant 7th overall in the senior women’s race and 3rd under 20. Beth Hirst again ran well and finished a solid 14th. Other good runs from Angela Oldham 49th (2nd V60) and Janine Ridgard 52nd (2nd V50).
Tom McGuinness had a brilliant run in the senior men’s event finishing 4th overall in a strong field and 1st under 20 on the day. Luke Piper finished 44th overall which was good enough for 3rd under 20. Gary Matthews as always running well in 98th overall but 1st in his V55 category.

Match 5 – 13/02/2016 – Wythenshawe Park. Manchester
Some good performances in the the last race of the series, well done all who took part.
The under 13 girls team finished 3rd with good runs from Megan Lewis 7th, Freya Handley 15th and Christie Allen 16th. Keenan Owen once again won his race in the under 15 boys category in a close race, but won by 5 seconds. The under 17 mens team finished 2nd with good performances from George Lewis 2nd, Nathan Barlow 5th and Paolo Guarnieri 10th.
Hayley Simpson was first home for ECH in the senior women’s event finishing 15th overall but 2nd under 20. Beth Hirst had a good run not far behind in 19th position. Angela Oldham had another strong run in 56th place and 1st lady 60, closely followed by Janine Ridgard in 60th and 3rd lady 50.Gillian Wolstenholme came 3rd in the lady 60 category with a good run.
Tom McGuinness again ran brilliantly in the senior men’s race finishing 4th and 1st under 20, beating some big names in the process! Joe Hudak was next home in 30th place followed by Barry Hirst in 55th. Gary Matthews won his vet 55 age category in 88th overall.
