Northern Athletics Open:
Some excellent performances on a long day of competition in Sheffield at the Northern Athletics Open. Among the highlights were a fine heat win and PB for Alex Green in the 60m, two big PBs for Chloe Skidmore in the 60m and 300m and a very promising best of 5.67 in the long jump for Marcus Crawford. Regan Walker was an excellent 2nd in the 60m hurdles, while Luke Taylor and Sean Crawford both put in sound performances in the 60m and long jump. Alfi Farrell also performed well in the 60m and 300m on her Sheffield debut. Last but not least, John Trotman enjoyed a fine day, with two excellent performances in the 600m and 300m.

Stockport 10 Mile Road Race:
East Cheshire’s senior men took the silver team medal in the Northern Athletics Championship event with great performances from Scott Matthews 11th in 58.31, Barry Hirst 33rd overall (1st Vet 50) in 1.02.04 and Chris Swire 41st in 1.02.48.
Tony Hillier also ran well to take 3rd in the Vet 65 category with a time of 1.14.57.

Howard Oldham wins Gravy Pud Fell Race:
Howard Oldham ran superbly to win this tough 5 mile fell race in a time of 37.23 wining by 25 seconds. First ECH lady back was Janet Grint in 49.51.
